The Empty Space
Community Producing
This was a 'community producing' project, working with mothers who received high quality training and mentoring in project development and delivery to develop their own activities and projects. The Empty Space had anticipated that within the group there would be several small projects but in reality the group chose to work together to develop one, ambitious project. They worked together to identify what they perceived to be the problems in their local area and to identify potential solutions. As a result they set up Wacky Kids Days with the aim to “improve the social, emotional and physical wellbeing, creativity, and communication skills of children in the West End of Newcastle through activities and space to grow.
