Converge at Northumbria delivers University based educational and creative opportunities to people aged 18 and over who use mental health services, via an innovative partnership across the public and voluntary sectors in Newcastle and Gateshead. Sofa to Stage - Stage to Frame was delivered in collaboration with Alphabetti Theatre and local visual artists. The Programme had three creative strands of script writing, performance and Art. This idea saw monologues written, developed, and performed and then visual Reponses of Artwork created culminating in an exhibition/celebration event on campus at Northumbria University. The opportunity was targeted at those 18+ living in Chopwell and Byker.
