Make It Happen

Make it Happen at Edberts House was a community capacity building project between Helix Arts, Edberts House and local primary schools with the theme around school readiness. It responded to the needs/interests articulated by local people and supported community volunteers in 2 phases

  1. Initial development programme in participatory arts management.

  2. Coaching volunteers during their neighbourhood focused project, where new knowledge and skills are realised in their own funded arts activities.

Make it Happen improved wellbeing and increased confidence, motivation and skills for families through socially engaged arts provision and encouraged the application of creative imagination and leaving a lasting artwork in the community. The project developed resourcefulness and give communities an ability to problem-solve, develop and grow by developing an understanding of what ‘school readiness’ is, supporting their children’s educational journey.
